Thailand On My Plate

Juana Thailand Food

Its not everyday that one of Manila’s 5 star hotel offers cooking classes by their specialty chefs. The Peninsula Manila will be running a cooking class for Thai food, led by their Thai chef Phaithoon Atthasarn on March 17. This is the first of the Peninsula’s planned specialty cooking classes for the year. Later on, they will offer other classes led by their chefs for different kinds of cuisines.

The cooking class will equip you to make Thai favorites at home, such as Som Tam Marako ( spicy green papaya salad with roasted nuts), Penang Goong ( Dried Penang curry with Prawn and Kaffir Lime Leaves) and a favorite Khao Niew Ma-Muong ( mango sticky rice). The award winning bar tenders have also come up with unique Thai inspired cocktails such as the Tom Khallins- made with tamarid juice, tequila and chilli and the Som Tum Sling. The Tom Khallins was the surprise favorite for me, as it was so interesting, that I had to keep sipping!

The cooking class also comes with dinner under the stars after the class. The cooking class and dinner come at the special price  P2,017! Register now with the Peninsula Manila at 02 887 2888.
